Adrián Alós is the Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of ABEXUS Analytics, where he leads the firm’s technical architecture, programming, and modeling. Trained as an economist at York University in Toronto, he combined formal study in econometrics and quantitative methods with self-taught programming skills to create proprietary tools that help governments, businesses, and communities make sense of complex data. His dual expertise has been central to ABEXUS’ mission to close Puerto Rico’s persistent gaps in economic data infrastructure and to deliver evidence-based solutions for decision-making.
Before co-founding the firm in 2019, Adrián worked in economic research while developing his technical skills independently. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Adrián also led the development of real-time dashboards by engineering scalable systems to track labor markets and consumer behavior ahead of official statistics, strengthening ABEXUS’s reputation for technical innovation and alternative data.
Adrián is recognized for his ability to integrate economic modeling with programming languages and big data analysis. His innovative use of advanced modeling techniques, ranging from microsimulation, to predictive analytics and AI, has challenged and disrupted traditional economic analysis. This has offered new frameworks to understand business intelligence, policy outcomes, sectoral dynamics, and fiscal impacts with unprecedented precision.
Today, Adrián directs the firm’s technical growth, leading the development of predictive models, analytics platforms, and scalable “Analytics-as-a-Service” systems. His work focuses on expanding machine learning capabilities, scaling to regional markets, and making complex analytics accessible to decision-makers.
